When my oldest Grandson was little he was prone to a LOT of spitting up. My daughter resorted to using receiving blankets and they worked very well. So mine are 2 layers of flannel sewn together for lots of absorbency (very critical for spitters!) and are about 12" x 20" depending on the fabric available. The flannel is pre-washed to prevent most shrinkage.
